Although full outdoor seating isn't available currently because their area wasn't large enough to get approval to open, there is still a waiting area on the patio out front with socially distanced benches. I came here because I needed WiFi to join my university Zoom classes and I was very impressed by the speed of the internet, considering cell coverage is very spotty out here. It was more than fast enough for me to video conference without interruption. It even had the range to reach my car in the parking lot. Staff is very friendly and the sandwiches are great.

A really cute place on 1! Not many places around there but the RC is an absolute must stop on the way! Fresh coffee! Friendly service! They also do breakfast and lunch.

Considering the location of the Ranch Cafe (South Sea Ranch with no other eateries around) the cafe can be forgiven for unpredictable levels of business, limited indoor and outdoor space etc. They literally are the only game in this neck of the woods! Their sandwiches and salads are excellent- my favorite is the Mendocino ham - and their bread is also very good. They figured out a way to stay open don’t during Covid restrictions, which I appreciated. The patio is fairly dog friendly (water bowls) and being able to park up close to the place is an advantage if you have a dog or sleeping toddler you want to leave in the car and still be able to keep a close eye on (windows open of course!). Seating can be limited as the place is small and of course, people linger because it is a lovely relaxed atmosphere but usually we get a seat ok. For people in a rush they have a cold cabinet of goodies (drinks, yogurt etc.) too. My only “negative” is that I would love them to open on a regular basis in the evenings - I think they used to do a taco Tuesday or something like that and people would appreciate having an alternative eatery some evenings but I know these ladies work hard and heck, probably have to sleep. If you want a casual, relaxed, scenic place to grab a sandwich do try the Ranch Cafe but just keep in mind that it is the simplicity of the establishment that is part of the charm. As for portion sizes - generous. We usually order a salad and a sandwich and split it between us and that is more than enough.

This is a cute little restaurant/bakery. Perfect for a small seaside town. Everyone who came in seemed to know each other and the breakfast sandwiches we ordered were tasty and handmade. Some of the food menu options are not always available and drinks may be sold from the refrigerated section. The coffee was good and the staff was friendly.
